Saw torture was a widely used form of torture. Saw torture was when the suspected person was hung up by their feet, and they were slowly hacked in half using a saw.
When trying to extract a confession, however, the accused had to watch someone being cut in two, if they still didn't give a confession then they too were strung up and slowly cut down the middle.
